4. Special Events:
Walkabout review - sidewalk set-ups continue to be a problem, example: a political stand was erected on the sidewalk in front of Daily Scoop, claimed freedom of speech. We hired a monitor who informs vendors that we do not welcome people from outside the business group. Perhaps as businesses we can have the guidelines available to share with members who are not able to attend the meetings and businesses within South Park who are not members.

Holiday Walkabout is Dec. 1: we have posters and postcards to help promote the event. Please sign the list that you have taken collateral so Melinda (who has kindly volunteered to distribute throughout ours and surrounding neighborhoods). this will help her know where she still needs to go on her delivery rounds. Thanks to Melinda for donating her time for this purpose.

Plus (SPBG is providing Christmas lights to decorate your trees, or for the outside of your business (if you do not have trees). Take up to 3 boxes to decorate your trees - can also buy your own LED lights. Deadline to have lights hung: November 15.

Deadline for inclusion in the WA guide is Nov. 21 - be sure to notify Marsha what you are doing: SPBG@lucyslist.net - also we have SP maps that show the various businesses in the hood - be sure to distribute at your store.

Carolers: next week the email will go out to opt-in for the carolers to visit your neighborhood during the Holiday Walkabout. First come first serve. To be included, each business will pay anywhere from $30 to $50 (amount to be announced) in advance; the carolers will then appear at your location at some point during the night (stay tuned for the email with more details).

The 3/50 program: we have nice looking flyers (printing underwritten by Andrea Frank) that you can take to promote shopping local. Speaking of: the "Small Business Saturday" AMEX shop local campaign has done well for some people over the years and may be worth looking into.

5. Branding Project: Tagline is "Charm in The Heart of San Diego" or “Charm in The Heart of the City” for local use. Christy indicated we had received some prospective logo designs, which were displayed and circulated (informal poll: #1 horizontal key: 7 people preferred, and #2 key in the gray circle: 14 preferred). Further reports to follow at coming meetings.
