**Tour de Fat Sat. Sept. 29th:**
The costumed, decorated bike parade will go through our neighborhood, we need to help promote and be involved. Thomas Bike (Jinna) is looking into setting up a tent at the festival to promote SP Scene and our neighborhood as a destination. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jinna at  [thomas_bike_shop@yahoo.com](mailto:thomas_bike_shop@yahoo.com). Posters and handouts provided by Tour de Fat.

John Mann, from Tour de Fat spoke: it's not a bikes with beer event. It is, rather a great cause promoted by New Belgium. They bring this event to cities around the country. They choose non-profits from each city who will get all of the proceeds: (SD Bicycle Coalition, and the San Diego Mountain Bike Assoc.).  Event is 100% off the grid. 90% of waste composted. Promotes community awareness. One lucky person trades their car for a bicycle each year. Proceeds for selling the car go to the non-profits. Winner gets $2,500 to build a new bike. Thomas Bike to donate extra as well.

How can we help? - we can display posters, tell people. John's contact is  [john.mann858@gmail.com](mailto:john.mann858@gmail.com). This year their will be pre-events: one on Thurs. 27th of September featuring Hamilton’s.  Parade Sept. 29 rolls out at 11:00 am into South Park. People should arrive at Golden Hill Park around 10am. Festival lasts til 5pm. Fantastic bands playing this year's event.

**South Park Branding Project:**
Christy Jaynes from Progress is spear heading this: the branding SP process: will help support us when getting grants and funding. We are designing a concept brand - a promise to our visitors that ... we are extending an invitation. It will be cohesive in everything we do - ads, interviews, print collateral, etc.
Christy is inviting people to join us in an effort to come up with a tagline - a small group stayed to brainstorm after the meeting. To join the branding team, contact: Christy at 619-278-1941 - [cajaynes@gmail.com](mailto:cajaynes@gmail.com)

ALSO: please remember to contact Marsha - send her information about your business, as well as events separate from the Walkabout, she works very hard for us and is a great asset.  Please make it easy for her to collect our information or she spends a great deal of time tracking down details - she'll help promote our private events as well.  She's a huge value to us and plays an important role in spreading the word about South Park - help her help us.

**The 3/50 Project:**
This is a worthy project - a national phenomena - locally owned businesses all over the country have registered to help promote the concept: Visit 3 local businesses per month and spend $50 at each one to help promote local businesses. Voted: unanimous vote to print flyers for distribution in our stores and post in our windows.  The site also has a link to SouthPark Scene - we can also link to their website from our individual sites.  [http://www.the350project.net](http://www.the350project.net)
We will be linking to this successful support local businesses campaign on South Park Scene website and FB page. Please visit website and register your business (click “Jump In”) -- http://www.the350project.net/register.html Visit “Resources” on website for other free materials – counter signs, gift enclosures, banner art, holiday posters, etc.

_Add note: Andrea Frank Realtor will print copies of flyer with list of SPBG businesses for her distribution throughout neighborhood residences in October, and will underwrite printing for in-store use. Flyers will be available at the September meeting._
