Police and Safety- Police & Safety Report:
Officer Susan Delfina of Central Division had nothing to report. Rebecca of Rebecca’s Coffeehouse said her home was robbed before the Holidays. She did not report it. She was encouraged to report it by the officer and by Anthony Bernal from Todd Gloria’s Office – because allocation of resources is based on crime statistics.

He is also in the process of filing for diagonal parking approval in front of his business(Alchemy) on 30th north of Beech.

Walkabout Dates for 2011

Spring – March 26 ("Plant Yourself in South Park")
Summer – July 16
Fall – Oct. 1
Holiday – Dec. 3
Posters are now available with 2011 dates- Available at Studio Maureen

Spring Walkabout theme ideas were discussed. “Plant Yourself in South Park” won out over “South Park is Blooming.” Stores can interpret theme as they wish. Please send info about what you plan to do for Walkabout ASAP to spbg@lucyslist.net.
The Walkabout will be promoted on KBPS with a radio spot one week prior to the date. This is paid for in part by your annual ASK campaign contributions.
There is a possibility of additional promotional opportunities with KPBS and the Australian Tourist Board around the theme of Walkabout. It’s in discussion - not sure if/how it will play out.

Old House Fair (June 18) - www.theoldhousefair.com

Report by Maureen Ceccarelli - Lining up sponsors and houses for Fair - Sat. June 18, 10am-4pm.
Vendor application going out shortly. Booths are available to businesses who help restore, renew, refurbish older homes and storefronts in South Park. Program advertising space also available. b. MAD - No representative . There is a new program Manager
c. Councilman Todd Gloria- Anthony Bernal representing. Todd Gloria is now Chairman of Budget and Finance Committee. There is a Community Coffee at Alchemy on Feb 12 at 10am. The State of the District event will be held on Wed , February 23 at 6:30 pm at the North Park Theater. All are invited with reception to follow. New business & announcements

  • New business in the neighborhood - Salon on 30th ( Next to Rose Pub).
  • New teacher at Baby Garten.
  • So Childish is involved in a charity event.
  • Lisa Vella of South Bark Dog Wash suggested that more businesses consider being open on Mondays. She’d like to see that a goal for 2011.
  • South Bark is renovating their storefront through a program with the City of San Diego. Lisa or Donna would be happy to answer any questions about it and direct you to the appropriate contacts.
