Dear South Park Business Owner,

It’s that time of year to join with your neighboring businesses in funding the South Park Business Group. Since this is a marketing contribution, it may be a deductible business expense for you.

Because we have been successful in obtaining a grant from the City of San Diego BID Council, and due to the success of the Old House Fair, we are able once again to limit the membership contribution to just $100 per business.  You may print out an invoice for that amount, which you may pay by check or credit card, by clicking on the 2012 Ask Campaign link at the top of this page.  You may also pay by credit card by clicking the Paypal button on that page (http://spbg.yolasite.com/index/2012-ask-campaign-invoice-letter).

The efforts of the South Park Business Group, along with the marketing activities of your individual businesses, have contributed significantly to the health of our retail community, and in “branding” our neighborhood as a unique and attractive place to shop, dine, play, and live.  Your membership contribution pays for:

  • An on-going PR and Social Media campaign to publicize South Park, its events, and its participating businesses.
  • Quarterly South Park Walkabouts and their promotion, including posters, radio ads, postcards, media coverage, etc. (Dates for 2012 are Saturdays -- March 24, July 14, October 6, and December 1.  The Old House Fair will be held Saturday, June 16.)
  • Free trolley service during all the Walkabouts and a free guided walking tour for new visitors at 3 of the 4 Walkabouts.
  • An attractive website (www.southparkscene.com) where customers and visitors may find info, links, news and maps, so they may patronize our businesses.
  • The South Park Map & Guide with locations and contact info for participating businesses.

Members are also encouraged to participate in our monthly meetings held on the last Wednesday of each month, 8:30am at Alchemy.  There we discuss issues of mutual interest, including safety, events, marketing opportunities and more.  Of particular interest will be our discussions about outside sidewalk vendors showing up at the Walkabouts. That issue will be discussed in January and February, so we may implement a consensus policy and procedure beginning with our March 24, 2012 event.

So please refer to the attached invoice and mail your $100 check ASAP, or bring it to the January 25 meeting.  If you prefer to pay by credit card, please click here to pay online.

We look forward to seeing you, working with you, and sharing in successful cooperative ventures in the coming year.

Sincerely,

SOUTH PARK BUSINESS GROUP P.R. COMMITTEE
